In July, GRIGLIE (grids) and WAM (Weekly Art Meetings) contemporary perfomative arts arrive in Faenza. The event was supported by In_Ocula, Iris, Menoventi, Clandestino and MPR Integrated Communication as main sponsor.

After having supported the Contemporary Arts Festival in Faenza, MPR Integrated Communication again chooses to support the innovative contemporary artistic activities, this time for WAM - Griglie, thus contributing to the territorial development and to the enhancement of young people's interconnections.

From Friday July 1st till Wednesday July 27th, Griglie arrives in Faenza with its extension WAM (Weekly Art Meetings) contemporary performative arts. It is an event of its own kind, followed by the theater companies of Faenza In_Ocula, Iris, Menoventi in association with Clandestino, Tesco, Miagalleria and Casa del Disco.

As can be easily understood from the very word, Griglie (grids) designs a material and cultural path of meetings among some of the cultural operators in the city of Faenza: these meetings will take place in the main sites dedicated to contemporary arts, among which the International Museum of Ceramics and the Carlo Zauli Museum.

Within the Griglie initiative, its extension WAM - Weekly Art Meetings was created: the first show dedicated to contemporary performative arts. The project derives from the idea that different cultural operators in Faenza could come together to create a rich and organic show (this the origin of the name Griglie). This show would host events of various kind and have an interdisciplinary nature. An idea that finds its contents in the contemporaneity of the artistic languages, bringing to Faenza's attention artistic and cultural proposals which would have otherwise been difficult to enjoy.

In this new project, great importance is given to the promotion and recognizability of the emergent companies, that, thanks to this new show, have the golden opportunity to make their works known to the audience. From dance to theater, through music, WAM's programme looks for and proposes a gradual, but qualitative approach to contemporary artistic and cultural production. Suffice it to remind that during the final evening on Wednesday July 27th, a particular and collective event is scheduled and it will involve some companies of the territory (Fanny Alexander, Masque, Nanou, Ortographe, Teatrino Clandestino).

With Griglie, the bases for a possible future "theatrical third pole" are set: this would be dedicated to and specialized in the contemporary arts in Faenza. A new reality, officially acknowledged, that could promote contemporary production by focusing on the most dynamic and open-minded realities, companies and individuals.
